The ignoring is almost finished...

FEAR NOT long suffering readers and emailers! Your days of being unintentionally ignored are coming to a rejoyceful end! We will be handing in our keys to the 'OTHER' place in a mere 12 hours. Once that burden has been lifted and a few others, I will be able to begin a religious blog regiment, and also have the uninterrupted (HA!) time to respond to emails that have been sitting in my email box for lengths of time that are too embarrassing to disclose on this public blog.

What, you may be asking, has been going on this month?

Well, first and for most, Kaylee has turned 8! This is quite a birthday for Ms. Kaylee. Not only does she get a 'friend' party, but she made the decision to be baptised. Here are a few pictures of her from her baptism:

It was such a wonderful day! The dress that she was baptised in, all four of my sisters and I and my niece were baptised in. It was a lovely service. Great speakers, singer, everything was just perfect! After words, as per tradition, we went to the Spaghetti Factory.

Pernell's family came out for the occasion. A great visit!

That same week both Pernell and I started school. Yay! We are both really enjoying our classes this semester. I'm taking a communications, sociology and health class. Love them all! And am learning quite a bit, too. *gasp*

Okey dokey! I don't think I posted about the snow. We had a lot. During Christmas. It was so white. It was so much. We got so stuck. Especially in our cul-de-sac. So stuck. Kia Spectra = BAD driving in snow. Snowed a lot. For 3 weeks. 'nuff said.

Hmmm... I am sure there is more to update. And that will come later.

So again... FEAR NOT! No longer shall this blog and emails and friends and family and everyone else I've neglected... be neglected! WOOHOOO!..... or be scared?????

What was I thinking???

So we are now about 3/4ths of the way officially into our new place. We have till the end of the month to be out of the old place (or so we thought!), which has worked out great especially with work and school..... so we've been pacing ourselves. The managers (a kind elderly couple) said they would pick up paint for us to re-paint over the awful job I did almost 3 years ago (HA!... opps!!), and bring it over. No paint... still waiting... no paint... no big deal, cause we have well over a week to be out. Then yesterday, we get two phone messages from them (one from him, one from her), both frantically wondering why we haven't picked up the paint and why we aren't out of the other place. I am more than certain they said we had till the end of the month, but it appears I was wrong. We have till Sunday. I'm not exactly sure how we're going to pull this off, as both of us work tomorrow (Friday), I have a study group coming to our house tomorrow, Pernell works Saturday... and we have about 4 coats of paint to do, not to mention cleaning the rest of the junk out, and scrubbing the place top to bottom...... oh! And find a carpet cleaner at a decent price to come clean the carpets. Good times.

Got our dumpster today, and Pernell has been going through things. Everything. Right now, my thoughts are, "Throw everything in garbage bags, get them to the new place, and we'll go through them once we are out!!"

It will all come together. Some how! On the plus side, my dad came and built us fantastic shelves:

Aren't they pretty? They don't look as 'massive' in the picture, but they go along two walls. It is awesome! I wonder how many garbage bags they hold.....

In other news, last Saturday I get a phone call from a number I did not recognize. It was a complete stranger(angel???) telling me that my stepgrandpa had fallen in the park, and needed some help. My number was the one he had memorized. So I raced out the door, and P called my mom. We met at the park at the same time. He had fallen and had been yelling for help for over 25 minutes (it was so cold and windy, no one in their right mind was out!!.... point proven!!). He didn't have a cane (refuses because it makes him look 'old'... did I mention he is 91 this year???). He ended up breaking his arm. Thank goodness for the two men who moved into action when they heard his faint calls for help in their backyard!!

He had surgery the other day fixing up that arm, so we've been spending time over at their house sitting with S. Gma, so she won't be alone while he's enjoy Club Med over there at the hospital.

It has been a crazy week. I am heading off to bed.

I can't wait to be done with this move. Short moves are no fun.

GRIPE!!!!!!!!!

*** WARNING!!! *** THIS IS A GRIPE POST... feel free to ignore ***

I love the Northwest. I love the rain. It does not bother me..... or it did not until today, when I realized that this is going to be very difficult to move the big stuff.. namely our bed! The girls beds are already there.. our bed is here. Makes for fun sleeping arrangements. Washer and dryer... there... clothes.... here... food there... kitchen supplies here...

My gosh, you would think with all the moving, I would have figured out the right way to do it! HA! In my defense, the new place is 300 feet (maybe not even that) away. We did manage to successfully get a couch over yesterday (what a site to behold!). I've decided that 'short' moves are much more difficult than long moves. For instance, we really aren't boxing things up, because by the time we box it up, we could just walk it over and put it in it's place. It does not seem to make sense to waste the time packing, moving and unpacking, when we can just move. Boy, this place is a disaster!!

I'm pretty much done with the girls room. Everything is in garbage bags secretly coded on the front. Here is my codes for the bags:

GA = Give Away
WN = Wash now
1 - Toy Room
2 - Sam's Room
3 - Kaylee's Room
4 - Our room
* = TRASH!!!!!!!!!

This way the girls do not know what is going in the trash. Hahaha!

Pernell's family will be here tomorrow evening, so we want to have all the living things we need over there (BEDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) for them by tomorrow.

Ok, off to finish.

8 years already!!!

Today (er... yesterday...) is Kaylee's 8th birthday. Wow! I can not believe it has been 8 years! Amazing!! We did a couple things together as a family (out to dinner), and have just had a really nice day!! As we are currently in the middle of moving and I cannot find my pictures of Kaylee when she was a baby, I am going to do a post dedicated to her in about a week or so when the pictures are accessible.
