Todays lesson

So in our new home, there are four bedrooms... well, technically 3. However, the 4th 'bedroom', isn't really a bedroom at all. No closet, no windows.. has a door to the garage and a door to the rest of the house. But it is big. I mean, BIG. So we decided, despite the windowlessness, despite the dinky heater not being able to keep up... we were going to make it the master bed room.

It is great! Our king size bed takes up about 1/3 of the room. We have a dresser, a desk, and plenty of room for more things. We are thinking about a table and some cute winged chairs or something, so we have a sitting area.... in our bedroom. ANYWAY, where I was going with this explanation of our room is, we do not have a window. The room is generally cold, which I love!

However, due to the lack of window, it is very, very dark in here. And if some sneaky little girls who want to play the Wii or the computer without permission choose to close our bedroom door, keeping it pitch black, we both will sleep long amounts of time because, of course, the sun is not shining through to wake us up.

I am not a morning person, therefore really need an alarm to get me up in the mornings during the school day. Today is Sunday. Church starts at 1pm. Did not set an alarm. Said girls decided they wanted to get some Wii action in before we woke up, and closed our door. 11:30, we wake up... and could NOT believe what time it was!!! Went out, and the girls were happy as could be playing their game. Clearly they had eaten breakfast (it was a grand mess). When we got out there we hear, "Oh, you're up. You can go back to bed!" I was planning to start working on dinner at 10am, and enjoy a leisurely morning. Oh well.

Lesson? Set the alarm. Even on the weekends.

........ and hide the Wii motes.

That is awesome! I had a windowless bedroom in the basement(that sounds bad) and I loved it. Everyone envied me and my sister(she had the other) and took them as soon as we vacated them.
